GENERAL INFORMATION
The Library provides library facilities and services to its faculty, students, staff, and other scholars and information users through a system of discipline- and research based libraries. The Library provides materials and services to support the academic programs and instructional needs of Institute of Mathematics. Its holdings are as follows: about 25 000 books, 600 titles of periodicals (about 65000 records). The periodicals are completely converted in the online base COBISS. During the first twenty years the books were signature by subject classification in the following subjects:
| A - Arithmetic | AG - Analytic geometry | AL - Algebra | AS - Astronomy |
|---|---|---|---|
| DC - Determinants and matrices | DG - Differential geometry | DJ - Differential equations | DI - Differentiation and integration |
| EA - Elementary algebra | EG - Elementary geometry | EM - Elementary mathematics | ER - Encyclopedias and dictionaries |
| G - Geometry | H - History of mathematics | K - Collections | KN -Numerical analysis |
| M - Mechanics | MF - Mathematics - general | NG - Descriptive geometry | O - General |
| SD - Collection II | SF - Special functions | R - Other | T - Tables |
| TB - Number theory | TF - Function theory | V - Probability | Z - Problems and exercises |
In the years that follows until now the books are signatured (placed) by their format (dimensions).
The periodicals are signatured by countries and format. Electronic resources include an online catalog networked with through several library networks and students have access to other libraries in Natural Sciences and Mathematics as well as National and University Library in the state.
Visitors will also find answers to a range of questions on mathematic's literature.
Information specialist will help you consult bibliographies and search for information in the computer files. In addition, visitors are free to use the open reference collection (including a wide range of books, periodicals, biographical reference works and directories) and the bibliography collection.
