Institute of Mathematics

The Faculty of Philosophy was established in Skopje in 1946, as the first institution of higher education in Macedonia. Initially, it had departments only for history, philology, and natural and mathematical sciences. In the beginning the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics had five Chairs, for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography, and grew into the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics by the end of 1958.

Institute of Mathematics covers education in all fields of Mathematics, as well as related disciplines.
